Oklahoma Indian Associations
Oklahoma is home to a few Indian community associations and groups.
Bengalis, Gujaratis, Malayalees, Tamils and Telugus in Oklahoma have all formed their own associations representing their culture and interests.
Besides language based associations, there are organizations representing the interests of students at University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University as well.
Oklahoma Indian associations are vibrant and organize programs to celebrate Indian Independence Day, Republic Day Ganesh Chaturthi, Dasara, Diwali, Sankranti, Ugadi, Baisakhi and Vishu that bond the community.
Most of these events include cultural programs like Bollywood music concerts, Bharanatyam, Bhangra dance programs and food stalls serving Idly, Vada, Mysore Masala Dosa, Dokhla, Samosa, Dum Biryani etc.
